Shane Legere is a Professional Geoscientist with Rochon Engineering. He completed his Bachelor of Science from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with a concentration in Geology and Physics. Mr. Legere is responsible for all geology-related projects with relevance to contaminant intrusion assessment, remediation, and management programs. Mr. Legere also specializes in the coordination of Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeological investigations, geophysical logging, three dimensional geological cross-section developments, groundwater monitoring, soil/water investigation programs by means of rotary and reverse circulation drilling operations, evaluation of geological and hydrogeological data, and preparation of technical reports. Mr. Legere has recently received his accreditation for an Environmental Professional (EP), and Certified Mold Investigator (CMI). Mr. Legere’s expertise as an Environmental and Exploration Geologist brings a unique, yet highly complementary geological perspective to a diverse team of engineers at Rochon Engineering.
Personal Interest
- 'Hometown highlights': Very small town with a big name. Joggins, NS is now a world renowned United Nations World Heritage Site for its fossil finds. This is what inspired me to become a Geologist when I was only 3 years old.
- What do you do for R & R? :? Going to see live bands play at local pubs, or a soccer game with friends.
- Unique hobby or sport: I played soccer and basketball right through Junior High school through to Varsity levels at Acadia University. I also enjoy fossil and mineral exploring.
- Famous people that I have run into: I met the Trailer Park Boys on several occasions, the cast of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Stephen King, as well as Pamela Anderson when she hosted the Juno Awards in Halifax, NS. Shes’s pretty.
- Best feeling in the world: Getting the winning goal in a soccer game.
- Best meal ever eaten: Billy Bobs’ garlic cheese fingers at Acadia University.
- First thing I would buy if I won the lottery: I would own a Ferrari inside of 20 minutes after I heard I won the lottery.
- If Rochons gave you a month off to do any job in the world, what would it be? Architectural inspector of Egyptian artifacts (Don’t really know if this is a job, but it would be very neat!)
- Most unusual job: Walking the beaches in Joggins, NS to help answer questions for tourists (even if there wasn’t anyone on the beach).
