Allen Kim









Mr. Kim completed his Bachelor of Applied Science at the University of Toronto with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Mr. Kim specializes in the forensic investigation of structural, geotechnical, and building science failures; and, to assess structural damage caused by fire, wind, snow, vehicle impact and ground movement. Mr. Kim is knowledgeable regarding relevant building codes and standards in relation to personal injury arising from the use of stairs and walkway surfaces. Mr. Kim is a qualified designer with the Ontario Building Code and holds a BCIN with the Ontario Ministry of Housing.

Personal Interest

  • 'Hometown highlights': Small town community atmosphere. Two high schools and one hockey arena.
  • What do you do for R & R? I am trying to see one NHL hockey game in each arena in the league.
  • Unique hobby or sport: I played rugby from high school until the end of university.
  • Famous people that I have run into: I saw Ron Wilson (U.S. Olympic Coach) at the airport after we won gold. He did not look happy.
  • Best feeling in the world: Completing an engineering report on time and below budget!
  • Best meal ever eaten: Chicago deep dish pizza.
  • First thing I would buy if I won the lottery: A celebratory ice cream cake.
  • If Rochons gave you a month off to do any job in the world, what would it be? Why would I want a month off? I love my job!
  • Most unusual job: Suntanning each and every day of the summer (Life-guarding).
  • Originally from: Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Yellowknife.
  • If I could be any animal, what would it be? A penguin so I could slide on my belly.
